By Implementing the latest 32-bit DSP technology, Leadshine DM805-AI is a high performance 2-phase advanced multi-function digital stepper drive. It can function as a normal stepper drive for position control, or as a speed controller for 2-phase stepper motors.
When function as a normal step & direction stepper drive, DM805-AI can take input voltage of 20-80 VDC and output current of 0.5-7.0A. lt is capable of driving a wide range of 2-phase stepper motors such as NEMA 17, 23, 24, 34, and 42. Because of the adoption of high performance 32-bit DSP current control technology, it can power a stepper motor at very high accuracy with smooth motor movement and very low motor heating. Like other Leadshine digital stepper drives, its output current and step resolution can be set via DIP switches or tuning software.
DM805-AI also has a built-in speed controller and can also take 0-5 VDC analog command for speed controls. There are three built-in potentiometers used to set and adjust the velocity, acceleration and deceleration. In 0-5V speed mode, the motor speed is controllable and follows the analog 0-5V input. In high/low speed mode, the motor speed is selected by digital input and adjusted by the high/low speed potentiometers. A user can run the motor with little configuration and connection. There is a 5V power supply output for customer use. Because DM805-AI moves so quiet and smooth at low speed (< 100 RPM) with very high torque, many OEM customers have implemented DM805-AI stepper motor combination to replace expensive brushless DC motor planetary gearhead speed controller in their applications.
